Some of the most memorable moments of this year’s Annual Celebration at The Beverly Hilton came from students. Muses, the treble contemporary a cappella group from John Burroughs High School in Burbank, took the stage and reminded everyone why our voices matter.
With an a cappella arrangement of John Lennon’s “Power to the People,” Muses turned an anthem of civic action into a message for today’s students. Performed for a room of engaged attorneys, educators, and students, the song amplified the evening’s theme that young people have the power to raise their voices and help shape their democracy.

About the Muses
Auditioned from Sound Sensations and directed by Jonathan Byram, Muses meets once a week after school and performs all kinds of a cappella music. The group can be seen throughout the Burbank community and is featured in many of the shows on the Burroughs stage.
