Free classroom activity and media contest for students with prizes !
The Declaration of Independence made a case for the American colonies to break away from Great Britain and the rule of King George III. Ideas and ideals expressed in the document are still important today.
Teach Democracy is providing K-12 teachers across the country with an activity focused on the Declaration of Independence and its importance to the ideals of our democracy today. For K-3, the theme is American Symbols. The activity has students create “public service announcements” and offers an opportunity for entry in our national contest.
We’re excited and we hope you’ll participate.
