California Civic Learning Initiative (CCLI) 

The California Civic Learning Initiative (CCLI) is an initiative of Teach Democracy (formerly Constitutional Rights Foundation), together with Lead Partners and Coalition Agencies, to improve and expand civic learning in California, with an emphasis on increasing access for all students to earn the California State Seal of Civic Engagement on their high school diplomas. California State Seal of Civic Engagement Resources

 

Background information on the State Seal of Civic Engagement, detailed information on the criteria for achieving the seal, along with implementation guidance and implementation resources for local educational agencies (LEAs).
 
Resources to assist teachers in helping students demonstrate productive academic workt, as well as competence in understanding the U.S. Constitution; tribal government; the role of citizens in constitutional democracy; and democratic principles, concepts, and processes.
 
Resources aligned to the criteria for the State Seal of Civic Engagement to support students in being recognized and celebrated for their civic engagement. 
 
 
Instructional resources dedicated to the State Seal of Civic Engagement available for Grades 4 – 12. 
 
 
Resources  to assist school districts in Los Angeles County with designing and implementing plans to engage students civically, beginning in elementary school to earn the State Seal of Civic Engagement on a transcript, diploma, or certificate of completion in grades 11 or 12.
