The first article looks at the first Western historians—the ancient Greeks Herodotus and Thucydides. The second article explores the printing revolution and its impact on Renaissance Europe. The last article looks at the “Great Compromiser” Henry Clay and his attempts to peacefully settle the disputes that ultimately led to the Civil War.
