Required Steps for State Finals Competition
Please confirm your county winner has completed the following steps:
Step One: Send the name of your first and second place team to Deysi Robles as soon as your competition is complete. The winning team and students will not need to reregister to participate at state.
Step Two: Review Finals General Competition Information and Team Information.
Step Three: Starting February 11, room block will become available. Please view the Finals General Competition Information page for important hotel information.
Step Four: Return Permission Slips and Fees to CRF by March 4. (View Sample Forms)
Step Five: Remind team to bring copies of the following forms to each trial: Observer, Time Sheet, Team Rosters, Clerk and Bailiff Notes, Case Packet and California Mock Trial Competition Team Rulebook.
We also ask that all county coordinators secure lapel pins, stickers, pens or other items suitable for dispersing at the state finals. Coordinators should contact the local county protocol office, the city’s chamber of commerce, or the winning team’s school for pin or other donations. This should be as simple as a phone call and a fax about the program. Students will be able to exchange these pins informally all weekend, including the dance.
Additionally, if you have not already done so, please email Deysi Robles your school list (including contact information) for all schools that participated in your county competition.
Please review the Competition Information, Team Information, Courtroom Artist Information, Courtroom Journalist Information and complete the County Statistics form. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us. As always, thanks for your continued support of the Mock Trial Program!
