2025 Mock Trial State Finals - March 14-16

Courthouse Information 

All teams will compete in Rounds 1 to 4.

• Rounds 1-4 will take place at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse
  • 110 N. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012
  • Friday - Round 1 (5:00 PM) 
  • Saturday - Round 2 (8:30 AM), Round 3 (1:00 PM), and Round 4 (4:30 PM)
• The distance between the Biltmore Hotel and the courthouse is 0.7 miles.
  • Walk: 15-minute walk
  • Public transportation: Metro B Line (Red) or Metro D Line (Purple) runs every 7-8 minutes from Pershing Square to the Courthouse.
  • Drive: Parking at Lot 14 - Music Center (135 N. Grand Avenue across from the courthouse/Grand Park). 
• Security - Everyone must go through metal detectors and security checks. Plan to arrive at the courthouse 60 minutes before the start of each trial. Expect long lines to enter the courthouse (you can help minimize the wait time by limiting what you bring with you - Items Prohibited at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse).
  • Limitations on Spectators: The court is providing the courtrooms for use during the competition. Each courtroom is unique, with some allowing for larger spectator seating and others allowing for very little spectator seating. Additionally, the Courthouse or Teach Democracy may limit the number of spectators in each room. Teams should be aware that spectator seating cannot be guaranteed and adjust the number of spectators accordingly. Every effort will be made to make this decision well in advance, but Teach Democracy reserves the right to respond to changing epidemiological circumstances by making this decision even in the days or weeks before the competition. Teams will be reminded of this fact at registration, and all spectators will be encouraged to make all travel plans refundable or to obtain travel insurance that will mitigate the impact of a late decision by Teach Democracy to limit the number of attendees. Teams may be required to certify during registration that they have informed spectators of this policy and its possible impact on their travel. Hotel Information 

The official 2025 California Mock Trial Finals hotel is the Biltmore Hotel -  506 South Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, 90071.

• Parking at the hotel
  • Day parking - $35 per day
  • Overnight parking - $45 per day
• Public Parking Lot next to the hotel
  • Pershing Square Garage $20* max per day (24 hours) *subject to change
• Airports with a distance from the hotel
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) - approximately 20 miles
  • Long Beach Airport - approximately 26 miles
  • Burbank Airport - approximately 18 miles 

Reservations: Room reservation must be received by February 28th. 

• Room Information
  • Room Rate - $169 per night (plus 16.195% tax)
  • Complimentary WIFI in guestrooms
  • Check-In at 3:00 pm and Check-out at 11:00 am
  • Overnight parking - $45 per day
• Reservation Information 
  • Each team is allocated six rooms (5 double beds and 1 king)
  • All reservations must be reserved via Teach Democracy's Rooming List Form and guaranteed with a major credit card 
  • Email your rooming list to Daisy Alonso at daisy@teachdemocracy.org by February 28th
  • Teams may request to be placed on a waiting list for additional rooms, should any become available
