2025 State Finals Requirements
We’re excited to have your team join us for the 44th Annual Mock Trial State Finals! To participate, complete all four steps listed below by the deadline. Step One - School Registration
We kindly remind all schools participating in the 2024-2025 CA Mock Trial Competition at their county level to register with Teach Democracy by January 31. Once registered, the county coordinator will notify Teach Democracy regarding your team's eligibility for the state competition, ensuring that your team's registration details will be seamlessly utilized for the state finals. Thank you for your participation!
Step Two - Team/Student Registration - Deadline is February 28th.

Teacher coaches, to certify your team’s participation in this year's competition, it is essential that you register your team members on Tabroom. Need assistance with registering in Tabroom, follow these steps for the Tabroom registration.

Each artist and journalist must complete a Courtroom Artist/Journalist Registration Form to ensure a smooth process.
Step Three - Registration Fee - Deadline is February 28th.
All team members, including artists and journalists, participating in the State Finals must submit a registration fee of $95 per student by February 28th. If payments are not submitted by this deadline, a late fee of $25 must be added.
The registration fees can be submitted via online payment or by check.
Make checks payable to Teach Democracy and mail along with a completed State Finals Registration Fee form to:

Step Four - Waiver & Release Form - Deadline is February 28th.
Online Release/Waiver Form — To confirm participation in the State Finals, every team member, artist, and journalist must have a completed release/waiver form submitted online by their parent or guardian.
Other Items
Code of Ethical Conduct and Courtroom Use Agreement - Deadline is March 7th.
We look forward to have you participate in the State Finals! Before diving in, we ask all teachers, attorney coaches, and students to take a moment to read Rule 1.2 – Code of Ethical Conduct in the 2024-2025 CA Team Rulebook and the Courtroom Use Agreement Form. After you’ve reviewed everything, please sign to show your commitment to the principles outlined in the form.

Team Pictures - Deadline is March 7th.
Team Pictures – At the welcome orientation, a slide show will be displaying the participating teams. Email 1-2 team photos to daisy@teachdemocracy.org by March 7th.
